What a Local Clinic Actually Gives You
Proximity buys monitoring and the ability to intervene. In a clinic, blood pressure is measured continuously by staff who can act on it, dosing is titratable during the session, and someone trained is physically present. Those are real advantages and they matter for medically complex patients, severe presentations, and anyone who cannot arrange a support person at home. If that describes you, a local clinic is the better answer and you should use one.
- Continuous cardiovascular monitoring by trained staff
- Intravenous dosing, titratable and stoppable during the session
- Physical intervention available if something goes wrong
- The route the strongest trial evidence was generated with
- The right choice for chronic pain as a primary complaint
What It Does Not Give You
Proximity does not improve the medication and does not improve the prescribing. What it adds is travel, a waiting room, a driver for each visit, and a cost structure that makes maintenance harder to sustain. A number of patients complete an initial in-clinic series and then stop, not because it stopped working but because getting there stopped being feasible.
- The pharmacology is unchanged by how far you drove
- Every visit needs a driver, since you cannot drive afterward
- Cost per session is typically higher across a full course
- Maintenance over months is where local logistics usually break down
- Waiting-room privacy is a real concern for some patients
How Telehealth Works Here
Tovani is licensed in Florida, New Jersey, and California, and treatment happens at home with a sober support person present. Evaluation is a video consultation with a physician rather than a form, and screening is scored before you pay anything.
- Licensed in Florida, New Jersey, and California; we do not treat outside those states
- Video consultation with Dr. Ben Soffer, DO, and a full medication review
- Validated screening scored in your browser before any payment
- Sublingual medication shipped to your home
- Extended booking windows including 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM appointments
- A sober support person required for every session
When We Will Point You Elsewhere
Some presentations belong in a clinic and we would rather refer than treat at the edge of what a home program can do safely. You will hear this at the consultation rather than after a course has been paid for.
- Chronic pain as the primary complaint, where infusion guidelines apply
- Significant cardiovascular disease needing continuous monitoring
- No sober support person available for sessions
- Active suicidal planning, which needs a higher level of care than telehealth
- Residence outside Florida, New Jersey, or California
